Job Title: Traffic Planner

Brief Description of Role (i.e. purpose of role)
Truck Scheduling / Driver control / Tank Allocating & Selection. To manage the fleet of contract and Third-party resources. Managing supply for customer that operates a 24/7 site. Location Based at Stokesley but with regular visits to on Site Logistics in Birmingham. All roles associated with Truck operation & contract requirements. Driver Control / Equipment and servicing report/requirements. On site requirements in Birmingham including Tank samples & Admin.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Key Activity 1 – Health And Safety
Responsible for one’s own, co-workers and stakeholders health and safety.
Key Activity 2 – Administration
Truck and Tank Planning within our clients own system with order and equipment status management and updates:
Key Activity 3 – Planning
Key Activity 4 – Communication
Liaise closely and positively with the Customer / Commercial Team regarding customer requirements, changes, challenges, and delays.
Responsibility of Driver management and communication
Forward planning & Advance notification to issues arising.
Key Activity 4 – Personal Development
Front line Logistics and onsite logistics & challenges
Dedicated transport contract and Customer management handling
Selection Criteria
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
Competent in the use of I.T. system, outlook, excel etc.
Good geographical knowledge
Experience
Previous roles in transport planning, cost management or within logistics industry
Competencies
An ability to work well under pressure
Communicate with various departments to achieve common goals
Consistently accurate and a keen eye for detail
Personal Attributes & other requirements
Calm under pressure
Excellent team player demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the organisation and team members
A strong willingness to learn and progress a career in logistics

Planning within a budgeted dedicated operation
Vehicle routing to best ability/affordability

Provide accurate and timely Daily Truck & Tank plan
Maintaining good relationships with contacts internally and externally
Proactive communication of issues

Insufficient time to complete daily operations. High pressure role and demanding customer.
