What does the job role involve?
- Site visits and surveys
- Identifying clients’ needs
- Carrying out designs using AutoCAD
- Producing supporting calculations and conducting structural analysis
- Reading and referencing complete structural drawings
- Client liaison both face to face and in writing/by phone as necessary
What you will need
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (we would also be interested to hear from anyone with an HNC in Engineering coupled with working experience of Scaffold Design)
- Be able to evidence practicality, efficient use of materials and efficiency in producing designs.
- Possess advanced level use of AutoCAD to produce high quality design drawings.
- Have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, highly skilled in spreadsheet production and formulae, to produce supporting calculations.
- Be able to demonstrate relevant experience working with structural analysis software tools in line with current standards.
- Competent at reading and interpreting complex structural drawings to enable the production of project specific, accurate designs.
- Have a friendly, collaborative outlook, which will be invaluable in establishing and building client relationships.
- Skilled at communicating effectively with clients on the telephone and face to face.
