What does the job role involve?

  • Site visits and surveys
  • Identifying clients’ needs
  • Carrying out designs using AutoCAD
  • Producing supporting calculations and conducting structural analysis
  • Reading and referencing complete structural drawings
  • Client liaison both face to face and in writing/by phone as necessary

What you will need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (we would also be interested to hear from anyone with an HNC in Engineering coupled with working experience of Scaffold Design)
  • Be able to evidence practicality, efficient use of materials and efficiency in producing designs.
  • Possess advanced level use of AutoCAD to produce high quality design drawings.
  • Have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, highly skilled in spreadsheet production and formulae, to produce supporting calculations.
  • Be able to demonstrate relevant experience working with structural analysis software tools in line with current standards.
  • Competent at reading and interpreting complex structural drawings to enable the production of project specific, accurate designs.
  • Have a friendly, collaborative outlook, which will be invaluable in establishing and building client relationships.
  • Skilled at communicating effectively with clients on the telephone and face to face.
