Graduate Mechanical Design/Project Engineer
My client manufactures and supplies a wide range of pipeline pigs and pipeline plugs to leading offshore and onshore companies throughout the world. Our pig-supply scope covers all types of pipeline pigs; foam pigs, disc pigs, cup pigs and on to more complex articulated and multi-diameter designs, capable of running line lengths in excess of 900 km. In addition to pipeline pigs & plugs, new technology has been launched to identify, track & locate pipeline pigs during operations.

Our dynamic and fast paced culture has ensured our market leading position and highly renowned brand. There is currently an opportunity within the company for a mechanical design/project engineer.
Working within the engineering/projects department, the position is a flexible role, ensuring involvement in all aspects/products within the business. The role would involve:
• Creating design models & production drawings (using Solidworks – (2D / 3D design package) for both concept designs and existing products.
• Assistance in preparing operational manuals, engineering studies & datasheets
• Assembly of products – assisting the project at the build stage
• Testing of products (i.e. pressure testing, function testing) to confirm client specification.
• Assistance with project documentation
This role requires a self -motivated candidate with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and a knowledge / interest in mechanical engineering and oil & gas operations.
The candidate will have a degree in Mechanical / Design Engineering and should be able to demonstrate a strong design/ technical capability and a sound knowledge of engineering principles.
They will be proficient in 2D (AutoCAD) /3D (Solidworks) design packages and be confident using hand calculations / design packages to carry to support designs. Attention to detail, accuracy and strong communication skills are key, along with an ability to manage multiple design projects to stringent timescales/deadlines.
