The Role

Reporting to the AUV Manager, the Data Processing Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the data processing activities of our subsea survey operations. This individual will lead a team of data processors and collaborate with other departments to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of high-quality data to our clients. The role requires strong technical expertise in data processing, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of data integrity and quality control.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Data Processing and Quality Control:

  • Implement and manage data processing workflows for subsea survey data, adhering to industry best practices and internal standards.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of processed data.

Technical Expertise:

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in subsea survey data processing technologies and methodologies.
  • Utilize specialized software and tools to process, analyse, and visualize subsea survey data effectively.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the survey operations team, geophysicists, and data acquisition personnel to ensure smooth data transfer and continuity throughout the survey process.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers and clients to understand their data processing requirements and provide updates on project status.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the data processing pipeline.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to optimize data processing workflows.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of data processing activities and produce detailed reports for internal use and client deliverables.

Data Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure that data security protocols are followed to protect sensitive and proprietary information.
  • Comply with relevant industry regulations and company policies concerning data handling and privacy.

 

In addition, the correct candidate will have the following skills:

Project Management: As a data processing manager, you will be part of a larger project team. Understanding project management principles, being able to work within project constraints, and effectively communicating with other team members are essential skills for coordinating operations.

Communication Skills: Effective communication is vital for conveying findings and progress updates to project managers, clients, and other stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary to produce clear and accurate reports.

Problem-Solving Ability: Subsea environments can present complex challenges that require innovative solutions.

You should have excellent problem-solving skills to adapt to unexpected situations and find ways to achieve accurate data management and reporting.

Attention to Detail: Precision is crucial, especially when dealing with subsea assets and infrastructure.

Paying close attention to detail ensures accurate data collection and avoids costly errors.

Teamwork and Adaptability: Subsea projects often involve collaboration with diverse teams. Being a team player and adaptable to changing circumstances are essential traits.

 

Work Experience Requirements

Previous experience working with AUVs as well as surveying subsea and offshore environments is essential in this role.

Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Geophysics, Marine Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in data processing for subsea survey data in the oil and gas or marine industry.

Strong proficiency in using data processing software ideally with EIVA NaviSuite software.

Experience in managing large Survey Data sets withing GIS Databases and understanding of basic programming
